I really wanted to get back to the roots of Black Mountain Shaving. When I first got into the hobby, long before BMS or me making EDPs, I knew a small handful of people and artisans. We collaborated, we celebrated each other, we swapped ideas as crazy as what they might have been. It was community and fellowship. This year, I have made it a point to get back to that involving the family in the community, and really making something with all of that in mind. It's what's inside the bottle in that fellowship that matters. No smoke.. no mirrors.. no crazy ass story (although you know there's always a story behind everything I do). I wanted to breathe life back into that fellowship and community - exactly where Nantahala began.
With that, I'm pleased to introduce Vernal Equinox, a Collaboration with Howard Paronto of the wet shaving community. We envisioned something fresh for the Summer, yet still a powerhouse with strength. We were inspired by the sun and its life giving nature of its warmth. We hope Vernal Equinox brings you that refreshed sense of us as a community leaving all the other bullshit at the door.
Vernal Equinox opens with a blast of refreshing lemon and mint with a touch of garden herb earthiness from the basil, thyme, and middle notes. As the notes dry down, our signature notes appear with a warm woody accord of white woods and birch. All while still being held together by the verbena.
To celebrate this wonderful collaboration, we have made a special transfer label from our Black Mountain Atelier referencing an AI generated sun dial inspired by joyous celebration and Summer on each of the 50ml bottles - a first for our bottles!
