Description From A&E:

Our soap was inspired by several ancient recipes from Syria, Greece and Italy. I took what I regard as the best possible ingredients and created this soap. First, let’s talk about soap which originated out of Aleppo, Syria. This soap was loved for its naturally nourishing qualities and is known worldwide as among the best bar soap for sensitive skin. This was originally made back in the 8th century A.D.

The soap traditionally comes in hard blocks made from olive oil and lye, but the ingredient that sets it apart is bay laurel oil. Now, I have seen very old recipes referencing Bay Laurel and Laurel Berry oils. Both derived from the same tree. Laurel Berries release a potent oil which was commonly used in ancient Greek and Arabic medicine as a natural disinfectant thanks to its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. I use both in my recipe.

It has been said that Cleopatra of Egypt used this type of soap before the first century AD, and these soaps were first introduced to Europe by the Crusaders in the 11th Century A.D.

Ancient Romans and Greeks used primarily Olive Oil soap, with the Greeks utilizing Goats Milk into their soap as well. My soap takes the best of these wonderful ancient ingredients, providing you with an incredible soap for your body, face, hair and for shaving. Keep in mind, these ancient cultures did not have 100 different brands of shampoo, body soap and facial cleaners to choose from. You will find that our soap excels in this and more.

Our soap is perfect for all skin types, including skin prone to dermatitis and other itchy, inflammatory skin conditions. It can be used to wash the face, body and hair, and lathers well to create a natural shaving cream with terrific slip.

Here are just some of the many skincare benefits of our all natural soap:

  • Cleanses and purifies without stripping the skin’s natural essential oils, leaving your hair in great condition.

  • The olive oil hydrates, moisturises and nourishes dry, flaky skin.

  • Laurel Oil can help manage skin problems like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and acne.

  • Together, the properties of olive oil and laurel oil help calm redness, irritation and inflammation.

  • Has Antiseptic, Antibacterial and antifungal properties

  • All Natural
  • Zero Fragrance Oils Used. It’s naturally fragrant with a light smoky cypress scent which comes from the Laurel oil.
  •  Vegetable Based
  • Significantly helps discomfort, itchiness and pain from those inflicted with lichen sclerosus.
