Ritual Shaving Lagoon Polished Concrete Shaving Brush 26mm G5C Knot

This is my first concrete handled shaving brush. The handle has a nice heft to it when shaving and stays relatively cool when soaking the brush in hot water prior to shaving. The smooth handle still has a good grip even when there is some soapy lather that drips down and the brush is very soft with not quite as much backbone as I would have liked. I tend to prefer brushes that are natural - but this synthetic brush comes close to the badger brushes that I have. It is very easy to whip up lots of lather, but you must have a larger shaving bowl lest you hit the sides of the bowl when lathering up. The size is a bit smaller than the Simpson Chubby 2, so if you like larger brushes then this one is for you. Cleanup is a breeze and it dries faster than a natural badger brush. The color is very attractive - time will tell if the concrete handle holds up well. I do like this brush and will be keeping it for a while.

I have to write an enthusiastic, 100% review of these concrete brushes! I was dubious - never heard of concrete for shave brushes! But I am totally impressed. Mine has the Pure Bliss knot, which is killer. I like the G5's as well, but the knot might make a difference for some. Anyway, the weight, balance, and over-all feel is wonderful!
