Parker SoloEdge Two-Piece Single Edge Safety Razor

The versatility of this razor came as a bit of a surprise! Considering that it's a single edge I had modest expectations, particularly as to the smoothness. Still, given that it takes conventional blades kept me interested. I ordered it together with American Single Edge razor blades, also available at The Razor Company. The "American" blades are made in India, I think :)
The combination blew me away! The hardware performed flawlessly and the blades were equally smooth. Mowed through my one day stubble with one smooth pass!
I recommend this as a solid starter razor, particularly if you don't want to invest too much! Get a set of 50 single "American" blades to boot!

I have shaved 7 times with this razor so far. Using 3 different blades and 2 different soaps with each blade. To this point, it has drawn blood on 5 of the 7 shaves. I will continue to experiment as I am confused, lol. This razor looks and feels very mild, but shaves more aggressively... at least for me. I have 40+ double and single edge safety razors, and this is the first one to draw blood on me in nearly a year. The best combo I have found so far is shark super stainless blade along with noble otter raw soap. I like the way it looks and handles, but have yet to arrive at the best blade and soap combo for it. I will come back and update this review when and if I Crack the code. Remember though that all our beards, skin, and techniques are slightly different so your mileage may vary. I believe this has the potential to be a great value with time and patience in technique and accessories.
