Never Alone…
A necessary conversation.
"When you don’t have the strength to take another step, ask those around you to pull you forward.” — Unknown
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. A month dedicated to bringing awareness to this often ignored and stigmatized subject. We hope this project will raise awareness and spark a conversation surrounding the importance of mental health and wellness.
Unlike many causes of death, Suicide can be prevented. We can work together to ease the suffering of those within our reach. Suicide prevention is truly a community effort that requires friends, families, co-workers, and community members to work together. Our most valuable resource is each-other.
Our message is simple; You are not alone. If you are thinking about suicide or are concerned about someone else, don’t stay silent. Help is available 24/7 to talk, answer questions, and assist you in navigating challenging situations. Help is a phone call away!
Suicide Prevention Lifeline:

A few words from Justin, The Red Island Shaver:
“141. That’s 141 yesterday, 141 today, 141 tomorrow and every single day after….. that’s the average number of suicides per day in the US and Canada, and it’s predominantly middle age males. Statistically men are 3.63% more likely to take our own lives than women and these stats are staggering. But what’s the cause of this? Stress? Illness? Financial worries? That’s a huge question for sure but I think the big elephant in the room is stigma. Sometimes being a man means to internalize, to not reach out, to feel that we are somehow less of a man…. than take into account there are risks to reaching out for help… if you are diagnosed as mentally ill you may lose your job, adding more stress to the equation, you may be seen as weak, and more vulnerable… but it doesn’t have to be this way, we need to de-stigmatize mental illness and realize that it is a big part of a lot of men’s lives. So that’s why you are reading this? The Razor Company and Justin the Red Island Shaver are proud to announce this project “Never Alone “, by Ariana and Evans, to let men know that they aren’t alone, and we are thinking of them. We say it takes a village to raise a child, but that shouldn’t stop there, we should all strive to lift each other up, and to support each other. There is no need to suffer in silence, and we feel this special release will spark a conversation and hopefully give people the courage to speak up, to reach out for help, and to realize that we, the community, are there for them. 100% of the proceeds from this project will be donated to both a US and a Canadian charity. So, to all of you, remember if you are having troubles, don’t hold it in, reach out and talk and together we will help each other, and always remember no matter how you feel, you are Never Alone.”
100% of the proceeds from this project will be split evenly between both, USA and Canadian Charities.
We have chosen the following charities to receive our donations:
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (USA). The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. The Lifeline consists of a national network of over 180 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices. Canadian Mental Health Association PEI (Canada). The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), founded in 1918, is one of the oldest voluntary organizations in Canada. The Prince Edward Island Division joined in 1959. Our vision is “Mental Health for All”. Our mission nationally is to facilitate access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness. Our goal in PEI is to be THE key partner in strengthening and enhancing Islanders’ ability to achieve and maintain positive mental health. For more information visit: https://pei.cmha.ca
