We blended our lovely floral/black pepper base with Japanese Peppermint and enough menthol to make even the most hardened skin prickle in fear, then added still more. The goal was to create one of the coldest soaps on Earth, the kind of soap that separates the hobbyists from the seriously dedicated.
Bay Rum SHAVING SOAP:

Barrister and Mann® is proud to offer our own version of a classic Bay Rum. Dispensing with the modern custom of using large amounts of clove, we instead blend real black strap rum with West Indie bay, sweet orange, cinnamon, and benzoin (a vanilla-like resin). Our Bay Rum is a warm, masculine classic, a piece of history, and a favorite for winter, but is well-suited for any time of year.
Cheshire SHAVE SOAP:
Scent Profile: American clary sage, bergamot, and small amounts of lavender and patchouli to create a very realistic interpretation of the smell of Earl Grey (the tea, not the man).
Cool SHAVE SOAP
Scent Profile: Based on a classic Italian barbershop staple, notes of bergamot, lemon, and lavender.
Cologne Russe SHAVE SOAP:
Scent Profile: Lemon, bergamot, petitgrain, and herbs with violet, rose, bay, and amber to produce a rich, beautifully fresh scent derived from the colognes of old.
Lavanille SHAVE SOAP:
Scent Profile: We blend our version of Mousse de Saxe with lavender, vanilla, cedar, and elegant musk to create a dark, leathery, elegant soap unlike anything seen for nearly a half century.

Our Lavender fragrance is as smooth as lavender can get. Based on a beautiful aftershave from Wales, this is the scent described by famed perfume critic Luca Turin as "Summer wind made smell" and "the greatest lavender of all time." We definitely agree.
Leviathian SHAVING SOAP:
Scent Notes: Russian leather accord and blended it with notes of sandalwood, coffee, cedar, and musk.
Le Grand Chypre SHAVE SOAP:
Scent Profile: Bergamot, lime, labdanum, oakmoss, and a touch of patchouli, peach, rose, frankincense, cedar, cinnamon.
Muire Wood SHAVING SOAP:
Scent Profile: Blackberry blended with resin of balsam fir, while oakmoss and vetiver lace the undergrowth, imparting earthy mossiness and wood.
Pasiflore SHAVING SOAP:
Scent Profile: Spicy fougère that plays on the green soapiness of galbanum oil, with cinnamon, bergamot, rose, geranium, lavender, and tonka bean, and overlaid with the rich, tangy, slightly acidic edge of a truly fine passion fruit.

It was inspired by photos of richly appointed libraries, peppered with winged leather armchairs, a glass of fine whiskey, and the smell of aging teak and mahogany wafting from the shelves. Genteel and smooth, the fragrance combines notes of cured tobacco, sandalwood, Mousse de Saxe (whose inky tang suffuses the entire scent like a whispered promise), citrus, vanilla, resins, myrrh, and geranium.
