Saponificio Varesino COSMO Shaving Soap is the Beta 4.3 reformulation of the COSMO soap, building on the previous Beta formulations and the earlier Beta 4.2 version. Its distinctive fragrance combines zesty Sicilian citrus with dark, peppery notes of coffee, coriander, and nutmeg, grounded by timeless notes of vetiver, sandalwood, and incense.

The Beta 4.3 formulation incorporates larch extract and a special castor-oil-based ingredient. Larch extract is described as helping reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), while the castor-oil-based ingredient provides a lubricating action designed to favor the mechanical action of shaving.

A Word from the Manufacturer

COSMO has evolved through previous Beta formulations and was reformulated in Beta 4.3. The formulation is 100% vegetable except for the fragrance and contains no palm oil, chemical-origin preservatives, chelating agents, or antioxidants.

The formula is also described as containing no petroleum derivatives, mineral oils, coloring agents, or parabens, and no EDTA, SLS, BHT, SLES, or PEG.

Directions for Use

Wet a shaving brush and load it directly from the shaving soap. Add water gradually while working the brush to create your preferred lather. Apply the lather evenly to the beard area and shave as desired. Rinse thoroughly after shaving.
